Zione Makawa Chawalika is an aquaculture and Fish value chain expert with over 10 years of experience in undertaking and implementing aquaculture and fish value chain research and development projects. She is the Executive Director for Kawjo Foundation.

Zione is at the helm of driving Kawjo Foundation’s mission of transforming the lives of the most vulnerable in society especially women and youth. She specializes in research and capacity development focusing on translating results into valuable business enterprises and has used her knowledge to lobby for support for women in business.

Zione is an impact-oriented trainer and consultant in climate smart integrated aquaculture, fish value chain development, agribusiness and gender equality and social inclusion. She holds a Master of Science in Aquaculture from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
